panic-inducing

Late last night, I was at the house of one of the actresses in the play I'm dialect coaching. I looked around, all of a sudden, and thought, "Who the hell are these people? What am I doing here? When did this happen?"

Two weeks ago, my life was pretty much 180-degrees different. I had to distract myself from totally dissolving into panic.

The thought occurred to me tonight too, also while at rehearsal.

The good news, aside from the sleep I'm getting and the DVRing I'm doing (which are both excellent additions to my life), is that UT Austin has officially confirmed my complete file. I can check back in as often as I want to see the status of my admission.

thought of the day, 29: Happy Birthday to me!

I started this blog 31,556,926 seconds ago. A year goes by real quick sometimes.

I was thinking of writing something commemorative to mark the occasion, but I think the monumental event of moving has eclipsed this moment in time.

Thank you all for your loyal readership!

Please keep it up, and look forward to these things in 2008:
American Idol, Season 7 blogging
More PCG moments
Revelations about my life in California
The announcement of and preparation for grad school
and much, much more!

the best things about California, so far

Lots of cable channels; I'm currently watching The Devil Wears Prada; we have The Soap Network, which means two episodes of Beverly Hills, 90210 every day

Buying lamps at Bed, Bath, and Beyond because overhead lighting "isn't the style" here

My very big bed

Having unpacked my suitcases, so my room already feels like a room

Homemade food

Laundry that doesn't require quarters

thought of the day, 28: Cali

I'd totally forgotten how it smells different here.

thought of the day, 27: leaving New York

Last night, I prayed for the first time in probably six years.
